Kebena Kidane-Mihret Catholic Church

Kidane-Mihret Building Committee pleads in the name of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, to all with faith and kind hearts; to provide for the new building envisioned to grant Kidane-Mihret Church financial stability along with becoming a spiritual home for the evangelized community it pledges to serve as our Lord Jesus Christ showed us how.

The transitional joy of Kidane-Mihret: It all began in 1915 when the Church was built. A brick house with minimal capacity that did well during the time. But as the year went by, the church had to go into several maintenances without prevail. And surely, the community population grew beyond the capacity of the Church.

Eventually, the contemplated time arrived to construct a new & bigger Church; and with the help of the congregation, Catholic Churches, Sisters, and benevolent people, the old was demolished and a new Kidane-Mihret Church was conceived in 2003; contracted in 2005, and constructed in 2007/8.

As years rolled by, due to financial shortages, the Church was not able to fully realize its vision to develop and coach elderly and young women towards spiritual life centered activities and supportive environment.

Kidane-Mihret’s desire to have faith and morale encompassed educational facilities for the young girls and boys of deprived families lingered through time as a well desired aspiration.

The noble ambition to give home for retiring Catholic Priests could not get off the ground either.

We admit that our meager financial income held back our plans; nevertheless, our hopes endowed with faith, encouraged by our benevolent folks, inspired by good willed members of our Church, and supported by good hearted friends that have always stood by Kidane-Mihret’s side, we were moved to put to work Kidane-Mihret’s hard saved money, to erect a building that will help us take a leap towards making our hopes come true.

At this critical moment, our present fund at hand will assist us to start the New Building; but in order to complete it, we are beseeching all good willed benefactors, to extend your hands as far as you can, and be the favored participant in helping us erect this deliberating building, so we can realize our noble hopes, justify our future programs, and succeed to accomplish our worthwhile objectives.
